At the 2014 GLAAD Media Awards in Los Angeles, Naomi Campbell voiced her support and encouraged the fashion industry to be more accepting of trans models.
"I encourage even more diversity in the fashion world, that includes welcoming trans models to the runways," Campbell said, looking stunning in a Gucci leopard print gown while introducing Ellen Page. She also paid respect to Lea T and former RuPaul's Drag Race contestant Carmen Carrera, both of whom have been breaking down barriers in the fashion industry.
"Much love Lea T and also to Carmen Carrera," Campbell said. "The truth is LGBT culture and fashion go hand in hand. They flourish in light of making bold and brave statements."
