What if you saw the 'Vogue' editor-in-chief on your morning commute?
Imagine, if you will, that you're on the jam-packed subway during rush hour--annoyed but trying to manage your frustration--sipping your coffee and being jostled by strangers, when you glance over and find Vogue's Anna Wintour sitting, reading the morning paper (WWD, of course) next to Victoria Beckham. Tell us--what exactly would be going through your mind?
Well, don't worry. That won't be happening anytime soon, despite Wintour and Beckham's subterranean presence at New York's Grand Central Station subway platform last night, they weren't there to hitch a ride (we're positive towncars were idling right above them), but there to promote the GREAT campaign. Essentially, with last year's Royal Wedding, and this year's London-based Olympic Games and Queen's Jubilee, the UK has seized this opportunity in the spotlight to bring attention to the country as a cultural destination.
So should you spot a perfectly coiffed bob and oversized sunglasses combo on the 6, don't expect it to belong to anyone working on floor 12 of 4 Times Square.
