At 78 years old, Karl Lagerfeld is a fashion powerhouse that shows no signs of stopping. He currently designs for the illustrious house of Chanel (including six lavishly produced shows a year--fall and spring, resort, and pre-Fall, plus two couture shows), the covetable Italian label Fendi, and his own eponymous line. Additionally, he finds time to serve as photographer, filmmaker, editor, and all-around avatar of the fashion world. And yet Lagerfeld has made time to add yet another honorific to his seemingly endless resume: cat connoisseur. This weekend, Lagerfeld revealed this photo (left) of his latest source of inspiration, an undeniably adorable kitten, whom he has given the soigne title of Choupette. The fashion crowd have long been known for their adoration of feline friends (Chanel's fall 2011 campaign had a chat noir theme), and even the stoic and poker-faced Kaiser can't resist their allure. I only hope that this somehow means there is some opulent kitty-cat overtone at his next show. Also, it goes without saying that this is probably the luckiest and richest cat in the world right now, right? But can little Choupette put a baby to sleep? Only time will tell.
