Yes, Bernie's mittens were involved.

The Golden Globes looked a lot different this year. For many of the stars featured at the event, it was their first virtual red carpet -- although some had a practice run of sorts at the Emmys. In practice, a lockdown limited ceremony meant a ton of people getting into glam in the comfort of their own homes -- though some like Gillian Anderson were broadcasting from hotels -- and getting to dial things up or back as much as they wanted to. For Cynthia Nixon, this also meant bringing some friends along.

Nixon was nominated for her role in Ratched, being put up for Best Supporting Actress in a Series. This marked her sixth nomination having bagged four for her work in Sex and the City and one for Warm Springs.

For the night, Nixon prepared two looks. For one she tapped sustainable designer Ronald Van Der Kemp. The resulting look was a full-length gown with a deep V-neck, as well as a ton of fringe. For her second look, she opted for a simpler dress with a pussy bow from The Vampire's Wife. The silk satin look with its organza shoulder pads is the label's limited-edition Total Mayhem dress. For many though, it was another choice that stuck out on the video feed.

Nixon brought along friends and family to her stream. Among them were civil rights attorney Tahanie Aboushi, who is running for Manhattan District Attorney, as well as Bernie Sanders. While Sanders wasn't there in the fresh, Nixon had a full-sized cutout featuring Sanders and his now-famous mittens from the presidential inauguration of Joe Biden, in the background of her shot.

We literally love to see it.
