A.P.C. co-designer Louis Wong looks at Oxbridge sports clubs and queer classics
A.P.C.'s Louis Wong is quite the film buff. For several seasons now, his capsule collections for the French brand have paid tribute to movies such as Blue Is The Warmest Color and Ferris Bueller's Day Off. For his latest spring line, Wong travelled across the Channel tunnel and looked at university sports culture in English private schools, as seen in a string of LGBT-themed movies, like Brideshead Revisited or Maurice, which served as inspiration for his designs.

A highlight is the "Will" jacket, a striped cotton-wool blend bomber reminiscent of the uniform sported by cricket players. The collection, entitled "Club Kids Society," refers to both sports clubs and nightclub culture, where sportswear has become "de rigueur" according to Wong.
There's plenty more that hits a homerun: The "Tim" bomber (pictured, center), a dark-navy satin and cotton jacket, has stripped ribs that evoke a baseball uniform, while the "Walter" bomber (left) in stonewashed denim adds a vintage touch to the range, referencing varsity sail teams. The "Lawrence" jacket (right) has a micro plaid pattern, also looks dashing on model Devon Mastro, Wong's muse this season.
The collection also sees Wong focusing more on knitwear, with a crewneck cable knit sweater (available in white or navy blue) that epitomizes his updated vision of preppy Oxbridge dress codes. Click here to shop the collection.
