Flame Con, the world’s largest LGBTQ+ comic convention, has officially announced its 2026 dates — and honey, she’s moving to Broadway!

After years of serving queer geek excellence in various NYC locations, Geeks OUT, the nonprofit that helms the convention, is taking it to the heart of Manhattan.

On August 15 and 16, Flame Con will be taking over the Marriott Marquis New York in Times Square. In addition its prime location, the venue was also chosen to accommodate the convention’s growing attendance and programming, including stages for panels and the event’s acclaimed Artist Alley.

"When Flame Con moved to Manhattan in 2018, we dreamed our geeky pageantry would take the stage alongside Broadway's legends," said a statement from Geeks OUT’s executive team. "The expansion to the iconic Marriott Marquis represents a dream come true."

Why It Matters

In a world of anti-LGBTQ+ villains, Flame Con remains a sanctuary. In addition to having comics for sale, the event platforms queer creators who are reimagining more inclusive universes. From superheroes to indie zines, it’s a weekend where queer people aren't just the sidekicks—they’re the main characters.
