The Comeback Is Officially Coming Back to HBO
After months of speculation and hope, HBO finally confirmed that it's bringing back The Comeback. Starring Lisa Kudrow, Malin Akerman and Kellan Lutz, the show became a cult classic during its initial run. Now, ten years later, Kudrow will return to the small screen as Valerie Cherish, TV's fading "It Girl" determined not to be forgotten.
HBO teases that during the limited six-episode run, Valerie will continue her search for the spotlight, but this time around, it'll illuminate a whole new series of problems when she finally achieves the visibility she wants.
"It was almost too fun play Valerie Cherish the first time around," Kudrow said in a statement. "I look forward to revisiting this resilient and ironically self-unaware character."
Production begins in May with Kudrow, creator Michael Patrick King and producer Dan Bucatinsky, who also will reprise his role on the show. Other cast members returning to the show include Lance Barber, Robert Michael Morris, Laura Silverman and Damian Young.
