It's not every morning that we wake up to Jennifer Lawrence delivering jaw-dropping news. Today, however, is special. Today is Oscar nominations day.
So, Lawrence (along with Tom Sherak, president of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences) announced this morning the nominees for the 84th Annual Academy Awards, which will take place Feb. 26 in Los Angeles and, more importantly, on the TV at the home of your friends while you snack, drink and scream at sparkly dresses.
There are some surprises to the list, like Demian Bichir's Best Actor nod for A Better Life and the never-even-dreamed-of nomination for Jonah Hill's performance in Moneyball, but for the most part the movies that people have been buzzing about (and that have already been receiving serious awards-show love), including The Artist, The Descendants, The Help, and The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo crowded the major categories.
Check out a list of nominees below and let us know who you think got snubbed.
