Ad leaks for new series, 'Work It,' but is cross dressing still considered comedy

The first ad for the upcoming ABC sitcom Work It debuted yesterday thanks to Entertainment Weekly and it's... kinda lame.

The series, which follows two dudes who cross dress in order to land all of those jobs reserved just for ladies, is going to be a midseason replacement for the network, but despite the surely impressive acting powers of starts Ben Koldyke and Amaury Nolasco, we can't see it lasting long.

The ad shows two people who are clearly men dressed in totally dated womens' clothing standing at urinals--EW called it "provocative," but to our eyes it's anything but.

There was probably a time when the idea of doofy guys having to put on pantyhose and use ridiculously high voices to pretend to be women in order to achieve some goal seemed like a fresh idea. One time. Hell, maybe it worked twice. But in 2011, the idea seems not only sophomoric and offensive, but just sort of limp.

As far as television shows with an element of gender fuck, we'll wait patiently for the supposedly upcoming Chloe Sevingy as a MTF assassin show, which is a concept we can absolutely get behind.
