Dolce & Gabbanaannounced today that they will be discontinuing their secondary line D&G. The designers, Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana have issued a statement noting that by ending the ancillary label, which appealed to a younger audience in both aesthetic and pricepoint, they would be able to focus more on growing their mainline collection.
While Dolce & Gabbana remains one of the most high-profile designer labels from Italy, the pair of designers has come under fire with accusations of tax evasion earlier this year (though they were later acquitted). They have said that they will incorporate D&G into their principal collection making today's D&G womenswear spring 2012 runway show, the label's last.
