Trend Spotting Spring 2012: Mustard—No Longer Just a Condiment

As men's Fashion Week wraps up in Milan and editors and buyers are hopping on the next flight to Paris to continue the fashion marathon, some patterns are emerging (literally, in some cases). While last season bright -- almost fluorescent -- colors were all the rage, there has been a pretty solid swing in the direction of subtler, less-saturated tones hitting the catwalks. One that is plainly obvious is that of a rich, warm play on orange -- we'll just call it mustard. Almost every show had it in some iteration, and we're loving it, it's bold, but not flamboyantly so, complements a variety of other colors and evokes a luxe yet earthy quality. Perfection!
