Nicola Formichetti to Post Uncensored Mugler Show on Porn Site

Editor, stylist, friend-of-Gaga and all-around fashion influencer Nicola Formichetti (not to brag, but we did predict this) is getting ready to unveil his sophomore men's collection as creative director of Mugler, the newest iteration of the infamous brand originally founded by Thierry Mugler. For his debut last season, Formichetti -- with the help of designer Romain Kremer -- showed a collection that, once stripped of the shiny synthetic cocoon of latex and plastic, was actually quite digest-able and straightforward, filled with roomy suiting and deconstructed menswear standbys like blazers and trousers.

As his next show quickly approaches -- scheduled for this Wednesday in Paris -- Nicola, ever the tease, has been taking to the Internet to drop hints and leave clues on his next vision for the brand (Collection title: Brothers of Arcadia. A quick Google search yielded no insight to what that means, though). While he's never been one to shy away from the sexual and erotic, the recent teaser picture (right, from his Tumblr account) promises to fully indulge in carnal delights (with just a touch of Fabio-on-a-romance-novel-cover for good measure). As if that weren't enough, now WWD is reporting that in addition to the runway show, the collection will also be featured in video format (for those digital dreamers who can't make it to Paris) and that "uncensored" cuts of said videos will be subsequently be released on the porn website Xtube.com. Where's Cathy Horyn? Where's Robin Givhan? We want an immediate analysis of the implications of this hedonistic, sensationalist and self-scandalizing mash-up! While fashion and sex have always been inexorably entwined with varying degrees of transparency, Formichetti has stripped away all niceties and calls a spade a spade -- we likey.
