Zac Posen's Style is Inspired by the Movie The Dark Crystal

For their ongoing feature, "Five Things I Know About Style" the Guardian UK got the scoop from designer Zac Posen. While he espouses on the fact that he's a "concise buyer," that he admires people who "devote themselves to a life of style," and that when it comes to sartorial must-haves, "a scent is very important, as is good underwear and a great pair of sunglasses." But we were most intrigued with the way he describes his own personal style. While we often think of him as a bit of a modern day dandy he thinks of it this this way: "My style could be described as unglamorous, but with panache and humour. As a child I was thrilled by visits to the Metropolitan Museum. And my way of dressing is very inspired by the '80s film Dark Crystal." Unglamorous? The dude paired a pink shawl-collar jacket with a lavender button-down and a silk cravat. In our book, that's pretty damn glamorous and has little to do with the weird alien-like puppets in Dark Crystal. Ah well, to each his own.
