You may have asked yourself if there is any way that Broadway musicals could get any gayer. We ask ourselves on a daily basis, pretty much, and the answer, decidedly, is yes, thanks to a special presentation this coming Monday, February 7th. On a night when most theaters are dark, The Longacre's marquee lights will be a-flame for the LGBT community. Broadway Backwards 6 will have its one-night only performance, in support of Broadway Cares/ Equity Fights AIDS, starring an all-star cast of stars who've strutted the boards and appeared on screens large and small, including Broadway hoofers Clay Aiken, Alan Cumming, Bebe Neuwirth, OUT contributor Mo Rocca, Hinton Battle, Len Cariou and Debra Monk, to name only a few . The show will feature a line-up of Broadway standards -- old and new -- but turned on their proverbial ear, featuring women singing songs written for men and vice versa -- and no shifty changing of pronouns for the sake of heteronormativity. The results promise to range from the hysterical to the genuinely moving, and you can bet you'll walk away having been thoroughly entertained and having helped an incredible organization.
