Films We Need to See: Bill Cunningham New York

Although it's already made the rounds on this here interwebs, we still think that this trailer for the documentary on The New York Times' Bill Cunningham -- Bill Cunningham New York -- is worth mentioning. When you open a trailer with Ms. Anna Wintour herself saying, "I've said many times we all get dressed for Bill," you know we're onboard (she later compares not being shot by him to death). The man is a New York institution, documenting uptown society and downtown avant-gardeism with the same ardor and enthusiasm. He refuses to use digital, is stubborn as all hell, and maintains that fashion -- true fashion -- lives on the street, not the catwalk.

We love a good fashion documentary, and there hasn't been a delicious one since The September Issue -- so you better believe we're excited to park it and watch this one.
