Visionaire Gets in the SPIRIT

Published three times a year since 1991, Visionaire is an exclusively produced compilation of art and fashion that has decided to take action to further immortalize one of the greatest designers of our time with their 58th edition, SPIRIT -- A Tribute to Lee Alexander McQueen. Known for his unconventional designs, McQueen was first featured in Visionaire in 1996, and has since been a regular inspiration and presence throughout many editions. According to the minds at Visionaire, "[McQueen's] daring designs and challenging ideas of fashion have consistently excited and provoked us. In 2003 McQueen came to our SoHo office and gallery to discuss collaborating on an issue of Visionaire... an issue that never came to be. This is our tribute to him."

The long list of contributors to SPIRIT includes Lady Gaga, Nick Knight, and Mario Sorrenti, who provided images inspired by the immeasurable creativity consistently shown by McQueen. Each image has been printed on special paper that when planted and showered with water and sunlight, will blossom into wildflowers. Furthermore, upon opening this issue, readers are greeted with a sound chip that plays "Speechless" by Lady Gaga. Available exclusively through Alexander McQueen boutiques, Collette, and Visionaire, this limited edition has only 1500 available copies.
