Need To Know: Ane Brun

Since 2003 the prolific Norwegian singer-songwriter Ane Brun, who describes her sound as "Joni Mitchell in 2010," has recorded six albums, three of which are studio albums, a live dvd and a collection of duets. Recently in New York to open for Peter Gabriel (and play as part of his backing band), we snagged a few minutes of her time to chat about songwriting, being inspired by the great jazz singers, and her perfect night on stage:
