Candis Cayne Joins Drop Dead Diva

Former Out 100 honoree Candis Cayne will be joining the cast of Lifetime's Drop Dead Diva for an episode during the show's upcoming second season, which premieres Sunday, June 6 at 9pm EST.

Cayne is best known for playing Carmelita Rainer, a trans woman having an affair with New York Attorney General Patrick Darling (played by William Baldwin) on ABC's Dirty Sexy Money from 2007 to 2008. The historic role marked the first time that a trans actor played a recurring trans character in prime time.

The episode of Drop Dead Diva starring Cayne, which airs on August 1, will also feature Cybill Shepherd and Thunder from Down Under, who will join series regulars Margaret Cho, Brooke Elliott, and Ben Feldman.
