Thakoon is 'Dying to do Men's Wear'

The Michelle Obama favored slash former Harper's Bazaar intern turned designer, Thakoon Panichgul is mulling a shot at diversifying his acclaimed label into menswear. How he keeps up a schedule of designing for women while juggling Japanese jewelry line Tasaki as creative director and collaborating with Aloha Rag designing cardigans is beyond most designers and appears overwhelming for the industry outsiders looking in.

Thakoon divulged to WWD, "I'm dying to do men's wear, I really am... I think maybe in a year I am." We envision the streamlined silhouette of Jil Sander's menswear coupled with the shock value of Etro's flamboyant colors. To Thakoon, please don't die before the first menswear collection. We're dying to see what the Anna Wintour favorite has to come up with.
