You probably forgot how raunchy that song is.
We're calling it: Charli XCX has officially won the silver medal in Song of Summer 2014 contest. Gold has obviously gone to Iggy Azalea for "Fancy," but it was a close race.
Not only is Charli XCX featured on the Iggy's summer jam, but "Boom Clap" was a strong contender. Charli performed both "Boom Clap" and a cover of The Strangeloves' 1965 classic "I Want Candy"--you probably remember the Bow Wow Wow version--for Transmitter.
Maybe it's the flimsy, sheer dress or the tarty dance moves or the tussled sex hair, but Charli XCX's sexed up performance doesn't feel over the top; this how "I Want Candy" is meant to be sung. Check out her renditions of "Boom Clap" and "I Want Candy" below.
