It's been awhile since Hamilton, the brainchild of Lin-Manuel Miranda, made its meteoric rise to the heights of Broadway records and history, but the musical about one of our nation's founding fathers is still kicking.
Miranda has kept true on the promise he made earlier this year to release a new Hamilton-related song during every month of 2018. This time around some of the musical's past leading ladies got together to collaborate on an early version of the song "Burn" from the Tony-snatching production. Aptly titled "First Burn," the track sees five Elizas, Lexi Lawson, Ariana Afsar, Shoba Narayan, Rachelle Ann Go, and Julia Harriman belting for their lives in what Miranda calls "a mood."
“I wrote the FIRST draft of Burn in 2014. It’s different, but it’s a mood™️. So we got Lacamoire in a room w super producer Mike Elizondo and recorded it with FIVE Elizas, tagged herein.
First Burn.
Your April #Hamildrop @ Midnight, wherever you are.”
