Björk Harnesses Light & Life In 'The Gate' Music Video

Bjork is back and she's as spellbinding as ever. Following the announcement of her new album, Utopia, the singer has released the illuminating video for lead single, "The Gate."

Opening on a serene field, Bjork serenades phantasmagorical creatures in perpetual motion. After a piercing stare, we are transported to a black space where light comes from a single orb. The Icelandic singer controls the orb, passing it between herself and hollow humanoid figure. As the synths and haunting vocals reverberate through the space, the pace quickens, and Bjork and the figure begin passing through one another, merging until harmony is found.

As the follow-up to the well-received Vulnicura, Utopia has a high bar to meet. But if "The Gate," produced by Arca, is any indicator to go by, the artist has plenty up her sleeve. Watch, below.
