Asian excellence has arrived!
Plastique Tiara and Nymphia Wind maximized their joint slay earlier this year on The Serpents Tour, which earned critical and commercial success across the United States.
The production was praised for its incredible depiction of Asian culture, jaw-dropping fashion, and campy moments that one should expect at a high-quality drag show.
"As Asian queens, we have to step outside and bring our culture and traditions with us.... It's been really crucial for us to show our cultures on tour. Plastique's from Vietnam and I'm from Taiwan, so we have very different cultures. And [we love] bringing as much Asian representation to the stage as possible," Wind tells Out.
Beyond their gagworthy performances, Tiara and Wind have gone viral for their incredible drag transformations and tutorials online.
Tiara's undressing videos have helped her amass a very large fanbase on social media. In fact, she is the most-followed queen from RuPaul's Drag Race with nearly 5 million Instagram followers and nearly 12 million followers on TikTok. And she's not afraid to be a visible drag performer in a time of anti-drag haters.
"I love it whenever there's a ton of hate comments. That's when I know it's going off! That's when I know it's appearing on the wrong pages.... The traction is coming, yes! That's when I know it's time to post more," Tiara says.
Although The Serpents Tour was a beautiful way to celebrate the Year of the Snake, both Tiara and Wind are hoping to bring their talents around the globe as the Lunar New Year begins.
"It's the Year of the Horse! We're going to take off running. The Horse Tour! We've become horse girls. The Horse Girls Tour!"
