In hopes of cleansing your timeline.
There's a lot to take in these days. There's the daily stream of disappointing news about the ongoing global pandemic, the ongoing (and extremely chaotic) presidential election, and then all of the institutions (like nightlife and other businesses) being forced to shutter permanently as a result of the economy being on hold. There is decidedly not a lot to look forward to. But every now and again thee's a palette cleanser to distract ourselves. Thank you April Carrion.
Carrion made an impression on season six of RuPaul's Drag Race. The Puerto Rican performer didn't make it far, but it wasn't for lack of talent: her season was inarguably one of the strongest in terms of casting. It was packed with the likes of Courtney Act, Bianca Del Rio, and Bendelacreme. In fact, the lip sync that sent her home has gone down in Drag Race herstory as one of the most iconic given that it was against the show's true lip-sync assassin Trinity K. Bonet. And when you watch Carrion in the footage, she still puts on quite a show.
But that was years ago and though she's long been anticipated for an appearance on All Stars, Carrion isn't sitting around waiting for the call, she's coming up with projects all her own. The star has recently been going all-in with a series of shoots she's posted on her social media. And while sure, the vast majority features Carrion in her full femme fantasy, a recent shoot shows the performer in a bit of boy drag.
Late last month, Carrion headed to the beach to give us a version of Poseidon we never knew we needed. Dubbed Aquarrion. And while we could try to make up some sort of excuse for sharing these photos, the reality is we're just in love. So let this cleanse your timeline if only for a moment.
It's not the only shoot the star has done of course. She's channeled a variety of different fantasies both in and out of drag -- which is a bit refreshing as many drag performers only post themselves in drag to their grid. Take a little sampling of her feed below.
