He might be known for hockey smut, but Connor Storrie also has a budding career in horror.
Storrie shared a short horror film he made called Coax on his YouTube account earlier this month under the user name Sin Monger. The account currently has one other film called Jerry the Ginger Eater available. Storrie first shared the existence of Coax on his personal Instagram, with the caption, “Old to me, new to you.” Per the film’s upload title, it was made in 2024, though was only just uploaded to his page in June.

The lo-fi experimental black-and-white short film stars his friend and collaborator Bailey Tait, per GQ, as a woman haunted by an entity that seems to be made of stringy hair-like limbs. It also features the gutting and eating of a raw fish. Rather than being over-the-top scary, the clip is extremely unnerving with some grotesque imagery. By contrast, Jerry the Ginger Eater is vibrant, colorful, and funny, telling the story of a cannibal who can only eat people with red hair.
While these specific horror stories are new, Storrie has already made it publicly known that he is interested in sitting in the director’s chair. He’s previously spoken about his upcoming feature directorial debut, Transaction Planet, a sci-fi thriller he wrote and self-financed, per The Hollywood Reporter. He calls the film “super absurdist and bizzare,” and says that its influences include the words of John Waters, Darren Aronofsky, and Sean Baker. The film follows an alien spirit that “incarnates into a human body.” The film was also shot entirely on an iPhone.
He previously shared behind-the-scenes footage from the film on TikTok.

Storrie’s sharing his horror film sidegig comes just as two horror films, Backrooms and Obsession, have broken several Hollywood records and made stars of their two directors, Kane Parsons and Curry Barker, respectively. Each of these directors released horror shorts on YouTube before releasing their acclaimed — and popular — films. Backrooms took only 10 days to become A24’s highest-grossing film ever, while Obsession — made on a relatively small $750k budget — has already made over 300 times that amount at the box office.
In between his directing projects, Storrie has a full slate of upcoming acting gigs. Aside from the second season of Heated Rivalry, Storrie will next be seen in A24’s high school comedy Peaked and the thriller Turpentine.
