It looks as though Ezra Miller may be joining the talented young ensemble of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. With Eddie Redmayne and Katherine Waterston already cast, sources confirmed with Out that Miller is in talks to play the chracter Kredan in the Harry Potter spinoff.
If you're not as familiar, the story takes place about 70 years before the original series, and it follows the fictional author, Newt Scamander (Redmayne) as he studies magical creatures in New York's secret community of witches. Kredan is a wizard who encounters the "magizoologist," Scamander at the beginning of his New York adventure.
Miller has built a career on his roles in such acclaimed indie films as We Need to Talk About Kevin, The Perks of Being a Wallflower, and The Stanford Prison Experiment (opening July 17). He will also appear in the DC franchise, starring in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice as The Flash, which is to become a spinoff of the same name.
From angsty teenagers to superheroes, playing a wizard seems like an appropriate career move.
