After much anticipation, Sex and the City 2 is almost upon us. The film is set for a May 27 release, which will surely seem like ages now that the fabulousness can be glimpsed in the newly released theatrical trailer (above).
My first reaction to this (after a minor excitement-induced panic attack of course) was a feeling of relief. This time around it looks as if the writers have finally gotten it right and wrote an uplifting script. Although it was great to see the girls finally hit the silver screen in the first SATC flick, the movie was a little too mopey for me to fully latch on. If this trailer is any indication, that prolonged sadness has been thrown out the window -- and we couldn't be happier about it! The movie picks up two years after the end of the first film. Carrie is married to Mr. Big, Charlotte is living happily with Harry and their two adorable kids, and Samantha is well...being Samantha. And Miranda? Oh, well. She's doing fine too, I suppose.
So two years have gone by and our girls appear to be in a bit of a rut. And what better way to dig their way out than with an all-expenses-paid trip to Abu Dhabi? Jeez, these girls have it so good! Not only do they have it good, but they look good too. Actually, good doesn't quite cut it. They look amazing! From Charlotte's gorgeous royal blue cocktail dress to Samantha's over-the-top red ensemble with spiked shoulders a la Rihanna, the fashion in this sequel certainly promises to live up to expectations.
If that isn't enough to get you going, how about cameos by Penelope Cruz, Liza Minnelli, and a gaggle of Speedo-sporting hotties? Like I said, we're freaking out!
