As there are protests nationwide in opposition to systemic, sometimes fatal racism, some of which have seen overt displays of aggression by police, a new video clip online shows a Black Minnesota woman being brutally jumped. The woman, Iyanna Dior, is also trans.

According to social media reports, the beating, which took place on June 1, occurred after a "fender bender." Some say the crowd included anywhere from 15 to 30 cisgender assailants, mostly male. A crowd also stands around to watch. Out has chosen to not embed or share the video but it is widely available. Many -- including the Out editorial staff -- have refrained from spreading the footage as it can provoke pain and trauma for other Black folks, no matter the intended reason.

On her personal Facebook page, Dior said she is "ok," and showed some of her bruises. "I just need some time to process everything that's going on," she wrote in a post. "Thanks to everyone reaching out making sure I'm ok. Imma talk real soon." Many online are calling for justice and visibility for the incident. There have been no reports of arrests associated with the violence.

"We at Abounding Prosperity, Inc. are deeply saddened, angered and disgusted at the images in the recent video of another Black transgender woman being brutally attacked by a mob of Black men and women at a convenience store in Minneapolis, Minnesota," Abounding Prosperity, a 2005 founded organization based in Dallas, Texas that seeks to "address health, social, and economic disparities among Black Americas" with a focus on the LGBTQ+ community, wrote in a release. "It is not acceptable for groups of people to stand by and watch and record and individual being attacked and beaten by a group of people and do nothing. If we truly want to enact change, then that change must start within our own community towards each other.

"If we want Black Lives to Matter, then All Black Lives Must Matter, including Black Trans Lives Matter," they continued.

Many are sending money to Dior's CashApp in solidarity.* The news comes after the recent high profile killings of Nina Pop and Tony McDade.

*After this story was published, Dior's CashApp handle was deactivated. We have since removed it.
