Tonight on VICE News a correspondant will interview a 17-year-old transgender Virginia boy, Gavin Grimm, who has been fighting since 2014 for the right to use the boys' bathroom at his high school.
Gavin used the boys' restroom for two months with his principal's permission, before his family was blindsided by a school board meeting that decided Gavin should have to use the nurse's restroom.
"All I want to do is be a normal child and use the restroom in peace and I have no problems from students to do that--only from adults. I am just a human. I am just a boy. Please consider my rights when you make your decision," Gavin said in his speech to the Gloucester County Board.
The case has reached the Supreme Court, which will decide whether or not to take the case this fall.
