Colette premieres Friday, September 21.
It was the turn of the 20th century, and Colette was the original "it" girl. The author of the Claudine book series, she sparked a feminist revolution with her stories of a young woman's sexual coming of age.
In the upcoming biopic, Colette, Keira Knightley stars as the titular author. It follows her journey from a country girl to a wife in Paris to the anonymous author of one of the most iconic pieces of literature in history. All the while, she discovers her queer, feminist voice, which she uses to empower others.
In a new behind-the-scenes featurette, Knightley discusses the role. It gives a glimpse at her sexual awakening while discussing the impact she had on the women of her time, as well as generations to come.
