Okay, listen. There comes a time in any person's life when you need to give up your goal of flipping a house and get the hell out--especially if your lightbulbs are literally bleeding real blood. That's the situation Jennifer Lawrence finds herself struggling to comprehend in the long-awaited Darren Aronofsky film Mother!, which looks absolutely, 100 percent batshit insane.

In typical Aronofsky's style, Lawrence finds herself mentally unraveling over the course of the film as she tries to fix up an old house as her world falls apart around her. Alongside her for her descent into madness are Javier Bardem as her shady husband and power couple Ed Harris and Michelle Pfeiffer as their unexpected houseguests. Oh, and an ever-expanding horde of people who seem committed to swarming the house. It's casual.
Luckily for our own mental health and sanity, we won't have to wait long to figure out what the hell is happening or who the titular mother is. Mother! comes out on September 15th.
