Kevin Spacey plays a cat in his new film. Bring on the Oscar.
We may be used to seeing Kevin Spacey play the bad guy in House of Cards, but in his new movie, he plays a total pussy.
In Nine Lives, Spacey is a hard-working father who neglects his wife (Jennifer Garner) and daughter. As punishment, Christopher Walken turns him into a cat, because cats are known for being more loving toward humans apparently.
It's hard not to be judgmental with this brand of '90s-style family comedy. Here, our editors give their gut reaction to the trailer.
Watch the trailer below and tell us what you think:
Les Fabian Brathwaite: "This new season of House of Cards looks terrible."
Glenn Garner: "This will either do for Kevin Spacey what Garfield did for Bill Murray or for Jennifer Garner what Look Who's Talking Now did for Kirstie Alley."
Jason Lamphier: "Surprise! This is actually the trailer for the just-announced fifth season of House of Cards, in which Frank Underwood is dethroned by Whiskers, the first-ever cat president of the U.S."
R. Kurt Osenlund: "Further proof that Kevin Spacey and pussy just don't mix."
Matthew Breen: "You have to understand that cats who choose not to discuss their personal lives are not living a lie."
Julien Sauvalle: "I'm more of a dog person, sorry."
