After Ireland announced that it would be holding a referendum on gay marriage next month, groups on both sides of the debate began campaigning. Unfortunately, those in opposition decided to take advantage of the issue and spread misinformation about the LGBT community. Some fliers and messages claimed that homosexuality causes cancer, and others argued that children shouldn't be exposed to the "sounds of sodomy."
The Daintree Paper company decided to fight back by not only ripping up the anti-gay propaganda, but by shredding it into confetti to be used at weddings - literally turning hate into love. Their "Shred of Decency" campaign makes their confetti from "100% recycled lies," and will be donating all proceeds to Yes Equality, one of the major voices in favor of gay marriage in Ireland.
