They need your help to "swing the Senate."
Georgia saw some historic levels of voting back in the November election with nearly 5 million people turning out. And while that ended up in a decisive Joe Biden victory in the Republican-leaning state, down-ballot things were not so clear cut. January will host a runoff Senate race as a result and the boys of Swinging Richards, the legendary gay strip club in Atlanta, need you to get involved.
"Sup bro," they say in a supercut video of pole swinging, booty popping, and glistening muscles. "Two months ago the queens of Atlanta asked you to get your booty to the polls and you did. Nearly five million voters Georgians exercised their right to vote. Georgia set an all-time record high in voter turnout and Georgia flipped to blue. But it's not over yet.
"On January 5th, we, Georgia will decide a runoff with two Senate seats in Georgia," they continue. They explain that the two seats will determine the balance of power in the Senate. "That's right."
After a few ... what we can only assume are swinging richards behind black boxes, they have a Jon Ossoff stand-in.
"Guys, I'm not ok with this," he says. "I know I look just like him but I think this is really disrespectful to Jon Osssof." With a little encouragement from the boys -- "Biden would have done it" -- the Ossoff lookalike goes with it, and starts a little strip tease of his own.
The message from the group is simply to vote "whether you lean to the left or whether you lean to the right" -- we, on the other hand, are going to advocate that you vote for the Democrats Ossoff and Raphael Warnock given the Republicans Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue have demonstrated histories of anti-LGBTQ+ legislation and bias.
"Congress has been too deadlocked to pass any meaningful legislation," the dancers explain. "This race will decide if that continues."
"Get your pole to the polls."
