In a time of backlash against diversity and as many brands are struggling with how to engage with the current moment, people who know how to tell LGBTQ+ stories authentically, such as Emerson J. Sosa Ponce, are invaluable. For over a decade, Ponce has built a career as an advertising executive who, in his own words, “taps into the power of cultural storytelling and authenticity.”
While Ponce — who currently serves as EVP of Cultural Convergence at the global ad agency Zenith, which is the media arm of Publicis Groupe — might help big brands tell stories, when it comes to his own life, he believes that individual connection is paramount.
“Human connection is precious, and every individual can make a meaningful impact in whatever way comes most naturally,” he says. “Empower yourself and engage — it's the only way we'll collectively grow and bring to life the change we dream of.”
In the coming year, he hopes to foster that connection through his love of food. “Whether I'm cooking for people myself, or if it's in a local restaurant or a renowned culinary institution, nothing makes me happier than a meal with purpose and connection,” he says. @zenith_usa
