PayPal found Peter Thiel will take the stage in Cleveland next week to speak at the Republican National Convention.
He’s the only openly gay speaker at the convention, and he will share the stage with presumptive nominee Donald Trump and other Republican leaders, including Sen. Ted Cruz and religious-right leader Jerry Falwell.
Thiel will be the third openly gay person to address the convention in its history. Log Cabin Republican Sam Fong addressed the 1996 convention, followed by Rep. Jim Kolbe in 2000.
Thiel made headlines this year after media company Gawker announced bankruptcy. The Silicon Valley investor had been in a proxy legal fight with the company, funding lawsuits against them after a reporter seemingly “outed” him in an article.
