The crime was caught on camera. Miami Beach Police's response: "There is no place for hate here"

South Beach, Miami was the scene of a hate crime two weeks ago, when a young man was pinned to the ground and attacked after kissing his male companion at a local Burger King.

Newly released surveillance video footage shows the attacker in a dark shirt and shorts pushing the victim to the floor and punching him, while another man, in a gray shirt, holds onlookers back and prevents them from intervening to stop the violence.

CBS Miami reports that the attacker is believed to be trained in some form of martial arts or other system of self-defense, which he employed to brutalize the 25-year-old victim for over a minute.

"The clear message we wanna give to visitors and residents of Miami Beach and Miami-Dade County for that matter is there is no place for hate here," Miami-based police officer Ernesto Rodriguez said.

The victim and his boyfriend have retained the services of a local lawyer, and are pursuing the matter as a hate crime.

To date, neither the attacker nor his accomplice, who is seen in the video repeatedly pushing the victim's companion away, have been apprehended.

This crime took place on the morning of Monday, March 14th at around 3 A.M. Anyone who may know the perpetrators seen in the video below is urged to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at (305) 471-8477.
