Lana Del Rey Releases Two New Lust For Life Songs with A$AP Rocky
Listen to "Summer Bummer" & "Groupie Love."
A week before the release of her new album, Lust For Life, Lana Del Rey has premiered two new songs, both featuring A$AP Rocky (who notably played John F. Kennedy in Del Rey's 2012 "National Anthem" video).
The first, "Summer Bummer," which also includes verses from Playboi Carti, is an ominous song that slowly builds into a trap-tinged chorus. "High tops in the summer," she sings. "Don't be a bummer, babe. Be my undercover lover, babe." Where much of Del Rey's Lust For Life has danced in sludgy, wistful production, this is the most hip-hop-leaning cut thus far. Listen, below.
The second, called "Groupie Love," is peak Del Rey, as she sings about the difficulties of sharing a star's love with all his adoring fans. "You're in the club, living it up, and I'm trying not to let the crowd notice me," she sings. "It's so sweet swinging to the beat, when I know that you're doing it all for me." Channeling her inner Penny Lane, she repeats, "You want my groupie love," above expansive, swirling strings. Listen, below.
Lust For Life is out July 21 off Interscope Records.
