In the aftermath of Hurricane Maria's devastation, it's been gut-wrenching to see the United States government going almost out of its way to deny aid to Puerto Rico. With the President doing everything in his power to shift responsibility, like blaming San Juan Mayor Carmen Yulin Cruz's poor leadership on the crisis and claiming that Cruz is going out of his way to "be nasty to trump." Because, of course, with millions of American citizens left without electricity, water, food and other essential resources, the most important thing is the President's fragile ego.
Thankfully, there are those who are taking relief into their own hands. Avant-garde design duo Eckhaus Latta, known for their thoughtful and thought-provoking fashion shows, announced this weekend that 15% of their online and in-store sales will be donated to the Hurricane Maria Community Relief & Recovery Fund.
While buying designer clothes is obviously not the only way to donate to Puerto Rico relief, it's still nice to see a brand doing what it can to provide some help in the midst of a crisis.
