DVD: In The Starter Wife, former Will & Grace star Debra Messing plays a ginger spitfire who leans on the support of her gay best friend (Chris Diamantopoulos) and her boozy gal pal (Judy Davis) after a nasty breakup with her successful husband (Peter Jacobson). Sound familiar? While The Starter Wife lacks the quick wit and clever plotting of Messing's groundbreaking sitcom, it retains the same gay sensibility with Messing and Dreamgirls star Anika Noni Rose. ||
