We did our best Kristen Bell impression from Amalia at the Dream Hotel, where we hosted the gayest and most gossipy guys and gals in New York for Out's March spring fashion issue launch party. Who got a little too tipsy? Who made a new special friend? Catch all the event coverage at Popnography.com.
In my day, male escorts were seen and not heard -- unless you paid for role-play. There was an honor system among whores: Don't bite the dick that pays you. Recently, however, mouthy male escorts have become mainstream media darlings. Even my mother now knows about Rentboy.com. Famous alleged and admitted escorts such as pastor masseuse Mike Jones, Fox News pundit Matt Sanchez, and White House boy toy Jeff Gannon are famous enough to have traded in their escort agencies for PR agencies.

New York Fashion week might be over, but we're still bringing you the best from the tents. Better late than never!
Known by many for the cataclysmic romance that Showtime adapted into the movie Soldier's Girl, Calpernia Addams was thrust into the jagged-edged terrain of media scrutiny in 1999 when her army boyfriend, Barry Winchell, who was sleeping on base, was murdered by another soldier. A musician and burlesque performer at the time, Addams abandoned her artistic endeavors while mending her heartbreak and tending to the trial of Winchell's killer. Almost a decade later Addams is looking for love again, this time on TV in Transamerican Love Story, a competitive-dating reality show.

HEARTTHROB: Hearing the name Jay Brannan may conjure visions of one of the most precisely choreorgraphed gay threesomes ever caught on film, but the Shortbus star (above) is also a singer-songwriter who's played to sold-out audiences nationwide. Catch him and his mercilessly fine mug trilling folk-tastic ditties on February 16 at New York City's Bowery Ballroom, 6 Delancey St. Who knows, maybe if enough of us heckle him, he'll buckle under the pressure and get naked for the encores.
When heiress Doris Duke died in 1993 at age 81, she left her butler of six years, Bernard Lafferty, in charge of her billion dollar estate. Though no can know exactly how profound, profane or strictly professional their relationship was, Bob Balaban, the actor best known for his roles in Gosford Park and the Christopher Guest films Waiting for Guffman, Best in Show and A Mighty Wind, was eager to get behind the camera to direct what might have been the world inhabited by Bernard and Doris.
On the set of Out's cover shoot with Gossip Girl stars Penn Badgley, Chace Crawford, and Ed Westwick, we're all doing our best to give the stars their space. The three have spent their first strike-imposed week off appearing on MTV's TRL and making office visits to several magazines whose editors, usually blas' about ascendant stars, have been tripping over themselves to get face time with the princes of prime time. At our shoot, though, random stylists, editors, and makeup artists in adjoining studios simply 'happen' to pop in.
1) Fag hag and fruit fly are perfectly acceptable terms. Especially for Katie Holmes.2) A word gay men use that drives me nuts: retail.3) Here's a gay obsession I'll never understand: fisting. Do you know how hard it is to clean shit off a charm bracelet?4) One thing I love that you'll never understand? A second date.5) I never fall in love with my gay pals because I only befriend ugly queens.

In the last decade or so, Baby Dee has been a church organist, a YMCA lifeguard, a topless dancer at New York City queer nightclub Pyramid, a tricycle-riding accordionist, and the owner of a tree-trimming business in Cleveland. The self-proclaimed "dime-a-dozen tranny" -- who used to pedal on her trike through the streets of lower Manhattan in the mid '90s, impersonating Shirley Temple while plucking her harp -- has released a new album, Safe Inside the Day, a spare piano-and-string-driven collection of boozy blues and tavern ditties.
Diesel unveiled it's much-anticipated higher-end Black Gold collection to much fanfare yesterday on the runways in Bryant Park.
