The Hopeless Fountain Kingdom singer is not here for mansplaining.
Mansplaining comes in a lot of forms but none are more entertaining--or painfully ironic--than the times when a man tries to explain what feminism is to a woman. That's what pop singer Halsey had to deal with yesterday after a celebratory post about back-to-back covers in Playboy and Flaunt. "Not-so-covered cover girl," her caption read.
Little did she know, the sight of her on the cover of two magazines fully embracing her sexuality was enough to make at least one man's brain short-circuit and send him into a confused and laughable attempt at taking down the Hopeless Fountain Kingdom singer, saying: "You are a feminist but you flash your boobs in Playboy magazine." Halsey did not come to fuck around and promptly slayed with a takedown so savage, we're just going to let you read it in full.
For those of you who are blissfully unaware of Halsey's activism, listen up. She's created an LGBT love song, been an outspoken advocate for the LGBTQ community, and given away a massive amount of her earnings to charities--confirming in Playboy no less that she's donated over $100,000 to Planned Parenthood alone. So, next time you try to come for her on the subject of feminism, it may be best to read the receipts.
