Tatianna on All Stars, 'Same Parts,' & Reading the Judges

Warning: Spoilers ahead!

Although last week's sudden departure on RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars left us a little heartbroken, the show went on. Adore Delano's unexpected exit only made more room for the rest of the queens to duke it out. And that's just what they did.

An entertaining Snatch Game featured some great (and not-so-great) impersonations: Alaska and Katya came out on top, Alaska as Mae West and Katya as Bjork; while Detox, Tatianna, and Roxxxy ended up in the bottom three. Detox's Nancy Grace wasn't much better than Acid Betty's while Tatianna didn't quite hit the mark with her Ariana Grande impression, and Roxxxy made a bold move in impersonating Alaska, which didn't pay off.

After lip syncing against Katya for her legacy, Alaska sent Tatianna home. We spoke with the eliminated queen about Adore, spoken word, and impersonating other queens.

Out: What was it like returning to the workroom and being in front of the judges again after so long?

Tatianna: It was fun. It was exciting. It was something familiar but something new. I was just ready and excited to get started.

What was it like working with the rest of the queens?

It was awesome. We all work together here and there--at shows, clubs, and bars or whatever--so I'd met everyone and I was a fan of everybody.

Was there any queen you were surprised by how much they've changed since their original season?

Maybe Phi Phi, physically. She went from real pageant to edgy and cool. I think her drag has changed probably the most out of everybody.

How did you feel about Adore's sudden departure?

I understood why. She and I had conversations about it. I understood where she was coming from. It wasn't a choice that I would have made but I understand her choice and I totally respect it.

How did you come up with the spoken word performance? Is that something you do a lot?

It's something I do never. I wrote that when I was 16 or 17 about going to house parties and dancing with dudes who didn't know that I was not a lady. It was originally actually a rap. Then I just slowed it down and put it to music.

If you had to impersonate another queen from Drag Race, who would it be?

I probably would do Alaska, her affected accent.

Do you think you could do a better job than Roxxxy?

Yea, I could. I do it all the time. [ALASKA VOICE] Girl! Yea, I think I would do Alaska. It's really easy to click into that accent.

If you could judge the judges, what would you most want to call them out on?

I can't even really think of anything that I would read the judges for now that I'm thinking about it. Usually Michelle's together, Ru obviously looks good. Yea, they're all cute.

Did you feel at all betrayed when you got eliminated?

No, because no one made me any promises. I kind of knew that I was going to be eliminated. I could feel it, and I knew that I didn't do as well as I could have. No betrayal. It just kind of sucks but there's no one to be mad at except for myself.

What do you have going on now that you're most excited about?

Lots of travel. I'll be in the UK and Australia early next year. I have a new single coming out, "Same Parts," which is a dance version of what I did on the show. Basically this year, I'm just coming from a place of "yes" where I'm saying "yes" to everything....Except for like porn.
