In the rare case that you were not already celebrating Beyonce every day, Minnesota's newly declared "Beyonce Day" just gave you an excuse.
Gov. Mark Dayton declared May 23 as Beyonce Day in Minnesota, the day that Beyonce was scheduled to perform in Minneapolis. The concert was nearly rained out, and thousands of Beyhive members were forced to temporarily evacuate the venue, TCF Bank Stadium, because of lightning.
The stormy weather eventually ceased, and Minnesotans were able to return to the concert and celebrate the new holiday with the Queen herself.
"Beyonce's impact and success has been widely-recognized," the official proclamation of Beyonce Day reads. "Beyonce has influenced many young girls and women with powerful, positive messages in her songs."
Is it too early to start planning next year's celebration?
