WATCH: Summer Songs Get Parodied for Condom Awareness
No matter how many times it's promoted, safe sex never goes out of style. It's always seemed like a no-brainer, ever since the concept of a condom was introduced in your first sex-ed class: if you don't want sexually-transmitted diseases or to get pregnant, wear a condom.
Unfortunatley, during a time when new HIV infections are on the rise, even messages that aren't gay specific can help if told originally, and "Protect Your Love" does just that. The video, directed by Adrian Anchondo, who's also parodied Marron 5 ("The Hillary Song") and Sam Smith ("Please Go Home"), paraodies three summer songs that everyone knows the words to by now and spins them to be a positive message about safe sex. Rihanna, Demi Lovato, and Fifth Harmony have their hits transformed into "Boy Better Have a Condom," "Cool With a Rubber," and "We're Worth It."
So next time someone mentions unprotected sex, pick your favorite part of this video and reenact it, choreography and all.
