Many artists run into trouble when putting out a second album. For many, they've said what they need to say and scramble to come up with a statement worth making. Normally the sophomore slump results in a boringly brooding collection of dirges scoped squarely at the art artist's navel--aww, being a professional musician isn't all sunshine, rainbows, and groupies?--or its a soppy rehash of album No. 1.
Luckily, Troye Sivan beat the odds and put out a second album worth hearing. The OUT100 honoree has just premiered the first part of his video trilogy, "Blue Neighbourhood." He kicks things off "WILD," the album's titualr track, which showcases the beginnings of a Romeo & Romeo romance: star crossed lovers with warring families and all that.
Let's hope Parts 2 and 3 are this good.
