If you could go back to high school, would you do anything differently? It's the sort of question many people may ponder, but in the new comedy The A-List, we can see how easily that sort of nostalgia can go wrong.
The premise is cute: the coolest student at Lake Odell High School is Eric Schultz (Hudson Thames) but when his guidance counselor (Elizabeth Bond), who was a nerd back in her day, discovers he's missing one class to graduate, she makes a deal with him: If Eric completes a list of five things she always wanted to do in high school (like date the quarterback and be a cheerleader), she'll fix his transcript so he can graduate. Yeah, zany stuff, but it also gets emotional at points -- like when Eric and soccer stud Trent Taylor (Jack DePew) go out on a date to fulfill one of the requirements.
