Our pirouettes may be rustier than an old car, but that doesn't mean we can't enjoy the sight of a few ballet dancers twirling across a stage. It's these graceful, beautiful ballet dancers that catch the attention of David Barba and James Pellerito in their new film, Anatomy of a Male Ballet Dancer.
The duo, who wrote, produced, photographed, edited, and directed the film, found their star in Marcelo Gomes, the "danceur noble" so suave he's basically a Disney prince with the talent to bring down a room of ballet enthusiasts. Raised in Rio de Janeiro, the dancer has been called the Pele of Ballet and won the Prix de Lausanne before joining the American Ballet Theatre in 1997. Since then he's gone from Soloist to Principle. If those words went over your head, just know he's a phenomenal dancer.
Before you head to the theater in January for the premiere screening, sit back and watch the exclusive premiere of the trailer below.
