President Trump has recently spoken out against protestors, suggesting they should not be allowed their right of assembly. He made the statement in an interview with The Daily Caller, in regards to protestors who interrupted his Supreme Court nominee, Brett Kavanaugh's confirmation hearing on Tuesday.
"I'm amazed that people allow the interruptions to continue," he said. "There [are] some people that just keep screaming. In the old days, we used to throw them out. Today, I guess they just keep screaming."
He also praised Senator Orrin Hatch's condemnation of the protestors during the hearing. "I don't know why they don't take care of a situation like that. I think it's embarrassing for the country to allow protestors. You don't even know what side the protestors are on."
This is not Trump's first time speaking out against citizens' first amendment rights. He's continuously made the media out to be "enemy of the people," while refusing to answer questions from some outlets, claiming they're "fake news." He's also condemned NFL players for kneeling during the national anthem.
