The 96-page periodical imagines the America we want, not the one we're stuck in.

The nasty women return. Tomorrow, on the most depressing Independence Day of all time, grill your burgers, light your fireworks and RESIST! The second volume of the comic newspaper that debuted at the post-inaugural Women's March is back and bolder than ever.

Editors Francoise Mouly and her daughter Nadja Spiegelman have curated a 96-page periodical that's meant to imagine the America they want, rather than the one we're suffering through. For this new edition of the project, Mouly and Spiegelman enlisted the help of a diverse group of artists to take a reflective approach to the state of American values, and the power of grassroots publishing.

"It's intended as a celebration of our country's independence, of our free press, of how diverse our country is, of the things we love about it and wish it could be," Spiegelman explained of the new issue. "Part of what drawing allows you to do is make manifest the world you want to be living in. So this is about picturing the America we want to be in."
